PTC Cartridge Evaporation Heaters
What is PTC?
PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient)
PTC ceramics are a special type of semiconductor material whose electrical resistance increases as the temperature rises.
*PTC cartridge heaters are used as evaporation heaters in industrial refrigerators.
*When the outer sheath comes into contact with liquid or cold moisture, the electrical resistance of the PTC ceramics inside the tube decreases, and the heater begins to warm up.
*As the outer tubular sheath heats up, the resistance of the PTC elements increases, causing the power to drop and the heating to cease.
*PTC cartridge heaters do not require an additional thermostat. Since resistance increases with temperature, the current flowing through the unit decreases. Consequently, the outer tubular sheath does not overheat and remains at a constant temperature without the need for an external thermostat.
*The PTC ceramics inside the tube self-regulate based on temperature. As there is no risk of overheating, they are both safe and energy-efficient.
They are produced in 5 standard types.
